Features Cabot SPF 1 Cleaner and Conditioner is a special blend of surface preparation ingredients formulated to remove dirt, mildew stains and loose wood fibers from surfaces to be treated with Cabot SPF Deck and Fence Finishes. This pre-treatment helps to thoroughly prepare wood surfaces before staining. In addition, the unique characteristics of Cabot SPF 1 acts to open wood pores for maximum performance of SPF Finishes by using moisture as a vehicle to assist in penetration and uniformity of finish. Coverage On smooth surfaces, approximately 200-400 square feet per gallon. These rates will vary depending upon the porosity of the surface. Preparing Your Surfaces Because it is difficult to determine the condition of the surface to be cleaned, test the recommended dilution on a small hidden area to determine its effectiveness. This product is specially formulated to remove dirt, mildew stains and loose wood fibers from surfaces to be treated with Cabot SPF Deck and Fence Finishes. This pre-treatment helps to thoroughly prepare wood surfaces before staining. Application Apply liberally to deck or fence surface using a scrub brush or pump-type sprayer. (Do not apply to hot surfaces). Allow solution to break down dirt and mildew stains for 15 minutes. Stubborn areas may require scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush. (If surface begins to dry, lightly mist with water). Rinse thoroughly using a garden hose with nozzle at maximum pressure or a high-pressure power washer. Repeat procedure if necessary. Finish with Cabot SPF Finishes once standing water has evaporated or been removed with squeegee or broom.
