CabotŪ Solid Color Decking Stains are extremely durable exterior stains for use on all wood decking, outdoor furniture and fencing, as well as cement patios and walkways. Series #1800, 100% acrylic finish is also water repellent and fade resistant. Solid Color Stains provide excellent adhesion to new, previously stained or painted surfaces, which are in a clean, sound condition.

Approximately 150-250 square feet per gallon for Acylic Series #1800. This rate will vary depending upon the porosity and type of surface. Spread rates will increase when applying a second coat.

Where to Use
Solid Color Decking Stains are ideal for use on most types of lumber including redwood, cypress, pine and fir, as well as pressure-treated wood.

Preparing Your Surfaces
Proper surface preparation is the key to maximum product performance. The durability of this product can be impaired by an unsound or poorly prepared surface. It is very important that the surface be clean of all dirt and sufficiently dry. (Moisture content must be below 15%, or wood must be exposed to dry weather a minimum of 3 to 5 days.) Previously painted, stained or weathered wood surfaces should be scrubbed with Cabot Problem-SolverŪ Wood Cleaner and a stiff bristle brush. Cabot Problem-Solver Wood Brightener can be used to easily remove nail and metal rust stains, stains caused by extractive bleeding, and renew the wood's appearance. Use Cabot Problem-Solver Wood Stripper to safely remove all stains and paints from wood surfaces in order to prevent product failure and to create a sound surface for maximum adhesion. Power washing has proven to be effective in removing the surface layer of all loose wood fibers, dirt, chalky residue, flaking paint and stain and other foreign matter.

Stir thoroughly before and occasionally while using. If the job requires more than one batch, blend them together. Apply evenly with a brush to small sections. Best results can be obtained by using a high-quality polyester brush for acrylic stains.

Spray Application
Recommended tip sizes and adjustments for spray application are 0.021"-0.023" at 2-3000 PSI with a fan width of 5-8 inches; one gun. When using HVLP spray equipment, see manual for proper set-up instructions. Work in sections and always back brush each section immediately to ensure proper coverage.

Cleanup and Disposal
Clean brushes and equipment with soap and water. Dispose of empty cans or unused portion in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Close container when not in use.
