How is Design Pine produced?
After the plantation pine has been kiln dried and knots and other defects have been eliminated, the timber is finger
jointed and edge glued with an ASTM wet use standard glue system. Fully automated gluing systems and temperature control
rooms let the glue cure properly.
Surface quality is achieved with moulders and sanders.
The finished product is then Tanalized Azure treated in a state of the art treatment facility.
A two coat exterior primer system is then applied. The first coat is a special oil-based exterior primer formulated to
work with the Tanalized Azure treatment system. The second coat is a water based exterior paint syste guaranteed for one
year after installation.
Finally, the product is polished to achieve a high quality finish.
A comprehensive quality control system throughout the entire process ensures product excellence. An in-house laboratory
meets analytical requirements, ensuring treatment retentions and paint specifications are correct.
