Completed deck substructure is ready for the new Procell decking surface (Refer to Illustration B)
NOTE: With this method of installation you will need to install some additional joists to support the outer deck plank where it
runs parallel to the main joists.
Miter cut the corners and lay down the perimeter planking to form the "picture frame" as shown above.
Be sure to let the deck plank overhang the rim joist 1/2" up to 1" as shown above. Check for proper fit at each miter cut. Then begin
fastening the perimeter planking in place using screws at each joist at 16" on center max.
Use your preferred spacing method to allow for the 1/8" to 1/4" gap between planks. Fasten planks using 2 screws per joist.
Continue to attach planks until surface is complete.
Cover Rim Joist
Use deck planks or rim joist cover (fascia) to cover the rim joist as shown above. For rim joist installation see steps 11
and 12. Miter cutting the corners will provide a clean, finished look.
