| Choosing the Correct Size Power Pack
Malibu offers a complete line of low voltage power packs that
range from 44 watt output capacity, up to 900 watt output capacity. To determine the correct
size of power pack(s) needed to run your system you will need to know the total bulb wattage
of all the lights you plan to operate in your system.
Add up the individual bulb wattages of all the fixtures you have chosen. Next, match this total bulb
wattage to a power pack with enough wattage output to properly light all of the fixtures you
have selected. (See example below).
IMPORTANT: Total bulb wattage must not exceed the power pack's wattage output capacity. Doing so will
damage the power pack and void its warranty.
NOTE: When necessary, divide large systems into 2 or more smaller systems
using additional power packs. In this case, total only the bulb wattages for each fixture within each
smaller system to determine the correct size power pack needed for each smaller system.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Locate power pack outdoors.
- Install a weatherproof outlet cover to keep rain and snow out.
- Do not use extension cords.
- Install first fixture at least 10' from power pack.
- Avoid using power packs with too high wattage output rating. Too much power can shorten bulb life
causing frequent bulb failure.
